Staring At A Blank Wall

Staring at the blank wall in my dining room has been driving me mad for the last two months.  My husband and I have been going back and forth on design options between here and the living room.

Sigh.

Since when did the husbands have a say-so on interior decorating?  We need a garage; That way he won't impede my vision.  Just kidding.  Sort-of.

Back to the wall.  It is large, plain, and empty.  I can't have that...so while the kids napped, I decided to paint it with magnatic and chalkboard paint.

And yes, I finished painting the entire wall in just two hours.  What can I say?  My husband and I make a great team.

I only painted half the wall with the magnetic paint for the kids.  Then, I painted over everything with the chalkboard paint.

My overall vision for this area is to add a desk to it, which my husband plans on building (hopefully) soon.

But until he can get around to building it, he figured he would give you a visual...

How nice of him.

Products used:
Rustoleum Magnetic Primer
Valspar Chalkboard Paint

To be honest with you, if I could go back and do this again, I would ditch the magnetic primer.  It doesn't work very well AND it left my wall feeling gritty-- making it harder to write on that side of the wall.
But hey, that's just my opinion.

Yes we do! haha. My husband doodles on it all the time. He is a big kid. :) And of course the kids love it.
We start building the new desk tomorrow and I'm really excited to have a better desk than the one we currently use!
